Governor Vessel is one of the standard nomenclatures of the eight extra meridians. It runs along from the end of the spinal column and reaches the head and face. This meridian meets all the Yang meridians, and thus is called “the sea of the Yang Meridians. “It is responsible for governing the qi flow of all the Yang meridians of the body.

督脈是奇經八脈之一。由會陰起行於腰背正中，上至頭面。督脈與六陽脈相聯繫，又稱為「陽脈之海」。它具有調節全身陽經經氣的作用。
