Posted - 2/9/2023 14:11:27 Hello, I have been suffering with severe anxiety (especially social anxiety). My body goes into freeze response and I go all rigid, especially my throat, and it gets very hard to speak, and my thought processes just stop and I become excessively ˇ§people-pleasingˇ¨. Sometimes there is tension in my eyes and a head ache, and my digestion is very very slow. What baffles me is that after this panic episode, instead of feeling drained I feel the opposite, as if the freeze response with-holds all energy. I swing from these opposite poles, frozen, silent, and then after, overly-energetic and hyper active, as if energy was building up during the freeze response. I would really like to know, what organ is responsible for holding back and suppressing the expression of energy, ˇ§storingˇ¨ it in the body for later? I would be so grateful for an explanation on what has been going on with me.
